Reports are filtering in that director Darren Aronofsky has bowed out of the director position on Fox’s upcoming Wolverine sequel, aptly titled The Wolverine.

According to Aronofsky:

“I was not comfortable being away from my family for that length of time. I am sad that I won’t be able to see the project through, as it is a terrific script and I was very much looking forward to working with my friend, Hugh Jackman, again,”

Fox and Jackman, who is acting as a producer on the film, are now officially on the hunt for a replacement for Aronofsky. Whether this will delay the production of the Christopher McQuarrie penned film or not is currently unclear.

Talk about a bummer storm!
