Hat tips to Comics Alliance, Cook Book Resources, Newsarama, IGN, the Source, and Bleeding Cool for quotes and recaps aggregated here.

Day 2:

Superman Panel

Parasite will be the major villain in Superman: Earth One Volume Two.

Scott Lobdell was talking “Superboy” #0, and he said that cloning has a long and terrible history on Krypton, which is why Kara will have such a hard time accepting Connor.

“Supergirl” #13 will introduce Kara’s “Fort of Solitude.”

“Action Comics” #13 will begin to align the Superman of “Action Comics” with the Superman of the rest of the line, time-line wise.

This panel also sparked the most controversy of the Convention thus far, when a fan asked about the rumor that Stephanie Brown will be replaced in “Smallville Season 11” with Barbara Gordon. Instead of answering the question honestly, the question was diverted by moderator John Cunningham, and many appear upset that, again, Brown has been written out of the Batsuit for Babs.

Justice League and Green Lantern Panel

“Justice League International” Annual, co written by Geoff Johns and Dan DiDio, is mainly a Booster Gold story that ties into issue #12 of the main “Justice League” series.

Geoff Johns says he plans on reintroducing the Metal Men into the New 52.

James Robinson described the “Earth 2” #0 issue as a “Trinity story,” specifically dealing with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman fighting “Mister Eight,” Terry Sloane (aka the original Golden Age Mister Terrific). Robinson went on to describe Earth 2 as a more “mystical” place than the New 52 Earth, and teased the introduction of Sandman, Dr. Fate and Wildcat in the next arc.

Jeff Lemire teased the introduction of a villain to be Constantine’s “Moriarty” in “Justice League Dark,” and announced plans to have a “JL” and “JLD” crossover that deal with the gods that punished Pandora, the Phantom Stranger, and the Question in the Free Comic Book Day issue.

The New 52 Panel

Dan Jurgens announced that #13 would bring Firestorm back to his roots a bit.

Scott Lodbell said that “Teen Titans” #0 would be mainly focused on Tim Drake, and that Bunker’s boyfriend would be introduced soon as well.

Geoff Johns said that the roster of “Justice League” would be shaken up a bit in the second year, teasing Martian Manhunter on the team, as well as saying that a Shazam/Cyborg friendship was in the works.

Spotlight on Jeff Lemire/Scott Snyder

"The Dark Knight Rises" Poster by Jock

There is very little information online about what was discussed during this session, where Snyder interviewed Lemire, and vice versa, other than the announcement that Jock would be doing the art for the next set of “Batman” backups.

Brian Salvatore

Brian Salvatore is an editor, podcaster, reviewer, writer at large, and general task master at Multiversity. When not writing, he can be found playing music, hanging out with his kids, or playing music with his kids. He also has a dog named Lola, a rowboat, and once met Jimmy Carter. Feel free to email him about good beer, the New York Mets, or the best way to make Chicken Parmagiana (add a thin slice of prosciutto under the cheese).
