DC Comics have announced a new ongoing series called “Task Force Z” by writer Matthew Rosenberg, artist Eddy Barrows, inker Eber Ferreira, and colorist Adriano Lucas; and a new twelve-part series called “DC vs. Vampires,” also by Rosenberg, alongside writer James Tynion IV and artist Otto Schmidt. Letterers for both projects have not been revealed.

“Task Force Z” will take place after a multitude of Gotham City’s criminals are killed during an attack on Arkham Asylum, an event referred to as A-Day. Bane, Man-Bat, The Arkham Knight, Sundowner, and Mr. Bloom are all resurrected and grouped together as the titular team by a “mysterious benefactor,” with Jason Todd/Red Hood being chosen as their leader. Whilst acting in the role, Jason will have to uncover the truth behind the team’s formation.

In the “DC vs. Vampires” series, the Justice League will learn that there is a new enemy on Earth, one that has been hiding here for many years: vampires. The team’s trust will be forced into question by this discovery, and they will be on unsteady ground as they fight back against the vampires’ “secret army.” The series is described as being similar to “DCeased,” implying it will take place outside the DC Universe’s usual continuity.

Both series will launch on October 26, with “Task Force Z” #1 featuring a cover by Eddy Barrows and variants by Tyler Kirkham, Dan Mora, and more, whilst “DC vs. Vampires” #1 will have a primary cover by Otto Schmidt and variants by Francesco Mattina, Jorge Molina, and Ejikure.
