The first story set for release will see Zagor meet up with The Flash, although all of the parties involved remain tight-lipped as to the circumstances of their crossover, as well as any other character crossovers that are planned. Zagor is a character who fights to protect the oppressed during the early 19th century. Zagor, whose real name is Patrick Wilding, is witness to his parents’ murder at the hands of a group of Abenaki Indians and grows up determined to get revenge. However, when he is older, Patrick discovers that his father slaughtered many Native Americans, which alters his perception of good and evil and sets out to defend the oppressed as Zagor. Sergio Bonelli co-created the character of Zagor in 1961 and wrote almost all of his stories up until 1980.

Sergio Bonelli Editore is an Italian comic publishing house that was founded as Casa Audace Editrice in 1940 by Gian Luigi Bonelli, an Italian comic book writer best known for co-creating Tex Willer, star of “Tex.” The publishing house has been incredibly successful with its black-and-white complete stories that have since become known as bonelliano. The publishing house has had multiple different names since its inception, and is currently named after Gian Luigi Bonelli’s son, Sergio Bonelli, who often worked under the pen name Guido Nolitta.

Michele Masiero, Editorial Director of Sergio Bonelli Editore, said that “Everyone at [the publishing house] is excited to be part of an event of this magnitude,” while Pasquale Saviano, Managing Director of RW Edizioni promised readers “the most exciting stories they could have ever expected.”
