Yesterday, the interwebs were in a flurry over some fan favorite books potentially heading to the chopping block. As of yesterday, with DC’s May Solicitations, those cancellations have been confirmed: JSA All Stars, REBELS, Doom Patrol, Freedom Fighters, and The Outsiders will all see their runs come to an end in May. While some speculations assume these cancellations may only be a pre-curser to a relaunch post-Flashpoint (or mid-Flashpoint, for that matter), given the sales of all of those books over the past several months(with many existing well below DC’s cancellation line for some time), I’d say its more likely that DC is making room on their publishing schedule for the bevy of new titles launching both during and after their newest event.
Speaking for myself, Doom Patrol with be sorely missed and speaking for Multiversity Grand Poobah Matthew, REBELS will be as well. It was nice to open books not starring traditional capes and cowls and witnessing their odd ball adventures while it lasted.
