DC Kind Of Reveals The New Guardians

The first time DC announced the new Green Lantern titles, they didn’t tell us much about the New Guardians. We knew that they were new, but we didn’t know who they were beyond silhouettes. Now as the October solicits are being released, we get our first look at the line-up.

There are some familiar faces in there: Arkillo from the Sinestro Corps, Saint Walker from the Blue Corps, Bleez from the Red Corps, Glomulus (a construct?) from the Orange Corps, and obviously Kyle. We also appear to get who looks like Munk of the Indigo Tribe as well as a Star Sapphire who – to me – is completely unrecognizable. Anyone who has any guesses, please chime in in the comments.

The solicit reads as follows:

GREEN LANTERN: NEW GUARDIANS #2
Written by TONY BEDARD
Art by TYLER KIRKHAM, HARVEY TALIBAO and BATT
Cover by TYLER KIRKHAM and BATT
On sale OCTOBER 26 – 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US – RATED T

By their rings betrayed! Who — or what — has the might to tear power rings from each of the seven Lantern Corps, murdering their former bearers in the process? And why have the rings all chosen Kyle Rayner as their new master? As members of each Corps target Kyle for death, we learn more about the shocking fate of Ganthet!

So we don’t have names, but it’s a start, right?

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
