It’s coming up on two years of the New 52 and all us Superman fans have had is the younger, brasher Superman of that universe. Not anymore, though, as today marks the release of DC’s newest digital first series Adventures Of Superman. The first chapter, which is available for 99 cents digitally and will be collected in print next month for $3.99, is written by Jeff Parker and Chris Samnee and it does the unthinkable: it brings back the red underwear. I know, I couldn’t believe it, either.
Courtesy of IGN, here is the creative line-up for the comic’s digital chapters in the coming months. I don’t know about anyone else, but there’s not a name there that I wouldn’t want a Superman comic from.

There’s also an interview with Jeff Parker on IGN that you should check out.
Having read the first chapter, I can say that it does not disappoint. Even as a break from the grimdarkness of the New 52, it succeeds with Chris Samnee drawing Superman as he hasn’t been seen in years: like a genuine superhero. You should all check it out because, hey, who can’t spare a dollar for a good comic?
