In an exclusive given to MTV Geek, DC announced two new series, a change in creative team for one series, and a plethora of variants for an already announced third series.

First, the news that is most exciting to us at Multiversity: “Green Arrow” will have a new creative team, with writer Jeff Lemire and artist Andrea Sorrentino joining the book with February’s #17. With “Sweet Tooth” winding down, and “Justice League Dark” adding co-writer Ray Fawkes in December, it seems like Lemire has some time to write another monthly. Sorrentino, meanwhile, has been one of the most critically lauded artists of the New 52, with his work on “I, Vampire” being stunning and regulatory. For a book that has been struggling to find its legs since its relaunch, this team can only be an improvement for “Green Arrow,” especially as Arrow, the television show based on the character, continues to prove itself a hit for the CW.

Next, DC announced two new solo books from members of their recently announced “Justice League of America” title. Along with “Justice League of America,” February will also see the oddly titled “Justice League of America’s Vibe” from writer Andrew Kreisberg and artist Pete Woods, as well as “Katana” from former “Green Arrow” scribe Ann Nocenti and artist Alex Sanchez. Katana is currently being featured in “Birds of Prey,” while Vibe has not been seen since being a Black Lantern in 2009’s “Blackest Night.”

And finally, “Justice League of America” from Geoff Johns and David Finch, will debut in February accompanied by, wait for it, 52 variant covers, one for each of the 50 United States, one for Washington, DC and one for Puerto Rico.
These three new books take the place of 3/4 of January’s cancelled titles (“Grifter,” “Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E.,” “Legion Lost” and “Blue Beetle”). Presumably, by next week’s scheduled February solicitations, the identity of the fourth book will be revealed.
