June is LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, and DC Comics is celebrating with a plethora of new projects, including a “DC Pride” one-shot anthology, a new mini-series starring Crush and Lobo, and a line of themed variant covers from some of the brightest artists working in comics today.

The first of these projects is “DC Pride,” an 80-page anthology one-shot featuring stories that spotlights various LGBTQIA+ characters from across the DC Universe from a host of LGBTQIA+ creators:
- Batwoman (Kate Kane) by James Tynion IV & Trung Le Nguyen
- Poison Ivy & Harley Quinn by Mariko Tamaki & Amy Reeder
- Midnighter by Steve Orlando & Stephen Byrne
- Flash of Earth-11 (Jess Chambers) by Danny Lore & Lisa Sterle
- Green Lantern (Alan Scott) & Obsidian by Sam Johns & Klaus Janson
- Aqualad (Jackson Hyde) by Andrew Wheeler & Luciano Vecchio
- Dreamer by Nicole Maines & Rachael Stott
- Renee Montoya by Vita Ayala and Skylar Patridge
- Pied Piper by Sina Grace, Ro Stein & Ted Brandt
“DC Pride” will be available on June 8, and also includes profiles for DCTV’s LGBTQIA+ characters, and the actors who play them. Notably, the story for the Dreamer, a trans woman superhero, will mark the comic book debut for the character, who first appeared on the season four premiere of The CW’s Supergirl. Writer Nicole Maines is the actress who portrays the character, who is based on and intended to be the ancestor of the Legion of Super-Heroes’ Dream Girl (Nura Nal). The anthology will also feature a forward from writer Marc Andreyko, and pin-ups from various artists including Kris Anka, Sophie Campbell, and Kevin Wada.

Additionally, DC will be publishing a new mini-series titled “Crush & Lobo” from writer Mariko Tamaki and artist Amancay Nahuelpan. This title follows Crush in the wake of her hasty departure from the Teen Titans, and an even hastier split with her girlfriend, Katie. Now, Crush is leaving a trail of destruction in her wake as she decides to finally confront her father in space jail. Is Crush set to wreck everything in her life, just like Lobo? This eight-issue series begins on June 1.
Lastly, DC will have Pride-themed variant covers across numerous books in June. These include variants for books starring LGBTQ+ characters such as Harley Quinn and Wonder Woman, as well as allies like Batman and Superman. These covers incorporate various LGBTQIA+ imagery and joyous character interactions.
