Today is Friday, and that means that all of the teases of new titles we’ve been hearing are to come to an end. We’ll give you a full list in a minute, but for now, here are the final four titles for DC’s upcoming relaunch, all centering around the Man of Steel:

  • Action Comics #1, written by Grant Morrison and illustrated by Rags Morales
  • Superman #1, written by George Perez and illustrated by Jesus Merino
  • Supergirl #1, written by Michael Green and Mike Johnson and illustrated by Mahmud Asrar
  • Superboy #1, written by Scott Lobdell and illustrated by RB Silva and Rob Lean
If you ask me, this is a pretty good line up. Morrison and Perez as writers for Superman and Action Comics feel appropriate, and Action Comics is clearly a no brainer by (you read All Star Superman right? What more do you need?). The Supergirl and Superboy teams are interesting, and it’s sad not to see Wood on the title as previously rumored, but RB Silva on Superboy is a nice touch. I’m curious what the different character designs between this and Teen Titans mean, though.
DC also won’t tell us anything about the “new Superman status quo”, so until the issue is released (or the eventual press buzz) we won’t know if his history has been changed or if he’s now sharing a bed with Wonder Woman, as rumored. One thing is for certain, though: apparently Superman isn’t that popular anymore. Wonder why?
Follow after the cut for all the synopsis and covers. Keep your eyes peeled for a full list, and soon after that there will be plenty of articles from us discussing the reboot and what it means.

This September, New York Times bestselling writer Grant Morrison (ALL-STAR SUPERMAN) joins with sensational artist Rags Morales to bring you tales of The Man of Tomorrow unlike any you’ve ever read before in ACTION COMICS #1. This momentous first issue will set in motion the history of the DC Universe as Superman defends a world that doesn’t trust their first Super Hero.

The first Action Comics #1 is now the most sought-after comic book of all time. This September, one of comics’ most imaginative storytellers will make history again in Grant Morrison and Rags Morales’ ACTION COMICS #1.

What is Superman’s startling new status quo? How does it affect his friends, loved ones and his job at The Daily Planet? Find out in SUPERMAN #1, written by legendary comics creator George Perez (CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS, NEW TEEN TITANS and WONDER WOMAN) and illustrated by Jesus Merino.

Supergirl’s got the unpredictable behavior of a teenager, the same powers as Superman and none of his affection for the people of Earth. Writers Michael Green and Mike Johnson (Smallville, SUPERMAN/BATMAN) will team up with artist Mahmud Asrar to give a new take on the teenager from Krypton in SUPERGIRL #1.

They thought he was just a failed experiment, grown from a combination of Kryptonian and human DNA. But when the scope of his stunning powers was revealed, he became a deadly weapon. SUPERBOY #1 will be written by Scott Lobdell with art by R.B. Silva and Rob Lean.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
