DC Returning to Comic Stores on April 28

In a press release, DC Comics have announced new titles will be released at comic book stores from Tuesday, April 28. According to an email seen by Newsarama, distribution for the titles delayed by the Diamond shutdown are being handled by Lunar Distribution and UCS Comic Distributors, newly-created sister companies to the Discount Comic Book Service (DCBS) and Midtown Comics, respectively. These two retailers are among the biggest Direct Market comic sellers, and Midtown has for years handled DC’s subscription sales. Readers can look up which stores the new books will be available at at www.dccomics.com/comicshoptracker. Here’s the list of forthcoming titles, including reprints, by release date:

Tuesday, April 28:

– “Batman” #89 (3rd Printing)
– “Daphne Byrne” #4
– “The Dreaming” #20
– “Nightwing” #70 (2nd Printing)
– “Batman Giant” #4

Tuesday, May 5:

– “Batman and the Outsiders” #12
– “DC Super Stars” #17 (Facsimile Edition)
– “The Flash” #753
– “The Green Lantern Season Two” #3
– “Hawkman” #23
– “House of Whispers” #20
– “Joker/Harley: Criminal Sanity” #4

Tuesday, May 12:

– “Harley Quinn” #72
– “Justice League” #44
– “Justice League Odyssey” #20
– “Lois Lane” #10
– “Metal Men” #6

The simultaneous digital release of the week’s new titles will also resume, having gone on hiatus as a result of the shutdown. At the time of writing, on-time deliveries can only guaranteed to locations in Canada and the U.S.

New DC Comic Books to be Available at Open and Operating Comic Book Retailers

DC comic books are returning to comic shops beginning Tuesday, April 28. After a four-week break, fans can celebrate that new superhero stories will be arriving at operating retail stores.

After surveying more than 2,000 stores across the U.S. and Canada, it became clear that many comic book store owners are finding new and creative ways to get books to the fans who want them.
