This November, DC Comics will be celebrating the various incarnations of Robin with a wealth of new stories, including two mini-series centered on the Teen Wonder. First off, writer Jeff Lemire and artist Dustin Nguyen will be reuniting for “Robin & Batman,” a three issue mini-series focused on Dick Grayson’s early days as Robin. This brand new story chronicles Dick’s early struggles alongside the Caped Crusader, as he adjusts to life as a superhero vigilante in the wake of his parents’ murder.

The series will be presented in prestige format, with 40 pages of story in each issue. Lemire and Nguyen have worked together on multiple occasions, most famously on their Image Comics titles “Ascender” and the Eisner Award-winning “Descender.” Additionally, Lemire recently wrote “Joker: Killer Smile” for DC’s Black Label imprint, while Nguyen is known for his runs on “Batman,” “Detective Comics,” and “Batman: Streets of Gotham,” as well as the all-ages “Batman: Li’l Gotham” series. Along with the announcement of this series, DC Comics released pages from the first issue, which showcase Nguyen’s beautiful watercolor art. “Robin & Batman” #1 will be released on November 9 and retail for $5.99.

Next, DC has announced that the winning title of their Round Robin fan-vote contest is “Robins.” DC’s Round Robin tournament gave fans the opportunity to vote on which DC property they would like to see greenlit as a mini-series. The contest was announced at the end of March and featured potential titles starring the Suicide Squad, Blue Beetle, Superman, and more.

After tallying over a million votes, “Robins” by writer Tim Seeley and artist Baldemar Rivas has been crowned as the official winner. As such, it has been greenlit for a six issue mini-series, with “Robins” #1 coming out in stores on November 16 for $3.99, and an early release planned for DC Universe Infinite subscribers on October 26. Additionally, the first issue will have a variant cover by artist Babs Tarr, which DC teases will be a must-have for fans.

In “Robins,” Batman’s sidekicks will come together to form a support group for one another, and discuss whether or not being a Robin was a good idea for them. Unfortunately, the heroes are quickly attacked by somebody who claims to have been the original Robin, sparking a brand new mystery that could unravel everything they know. The story stars Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown, and Damian Wayne.
