You may be reading a certain digital DC book called “Legends of the Dark Knight,” a formerly-print now-digital comic from DC featuring great creators doing some shorts with the legendary character. For example, it launched with a story by Damon Lindelof and Jeff Lemire, so that clearly sets the tone.

Now, with clear hopes to match that, DC will be launching “Adventures of Superman,” a similar digital-first comic starring the light to Batman’s dark. The book, as first revealed on IGN, is set to debut on April 29th and is already boasting quite an impressive line-up, with the initial team of Orson Scott Card and Aaron Johnston (who put together some great “Ender” comics for Marvel) and art by Chris Sprouse and Karl Story telling the first story over two installments. The book will also see work by Jeff Parker and Chris Samnee telling a story about Lex Luthor, as well as folks like Justin Jordan, Matt Kindt, Max Landis, Jeff Lemire, Bruce Timm, Riley Rossmo and more.

The series will also see a print collection with a Bryan Hitch cover, so that’s even more to get excited about.

With Man of Steel obviously holding a lot of importance for DC and “Man of Steel” from Snyder and Lee not too far away, this is clearly a big year for Superman at DC (and we’re not just talking about that lawsuit from the Siegel and Shuster estates). Look for the comic in April.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
