In anticipation of their fall TV schedule, DC is wasting no time getting fans deeper into their two CW superhero franchises. As revealed to TV Guide, starting on Monday, September 1, DC will alternate weekly publishing of “Arrow: Season 2.5” and “The Flash: Season Zero” each Monday.

“Arrow: Season 2.5” picks up the “Arrow” digital comic after it lay dormant for over a year now, and places it directly after the season finale of Season 2. co-Writer/showrunner Marc Guggenheim had this to say about the series:

“It will take us from the end of Season 2 right up to the beginning of Season 3. We’ve tried to put in all the elements that people like about the show, so there will be Oliver and Felicity banter. We’re going to see what’s happened to Detective Lance after he collapsed in the season finale. A good chunk of the burning questions left over will get answered in the tie-in comic.”

The series will be co-writer by Arrow writer Keto Shimiz, with pencils by Joe Bennett (“Solar: Man of the Atom”) and inks by Jack Jadson (“Teen Titans”).

Meanwhile, “The Flash: Season Zero” takes place between the pilot and episode 2 of The Flash. Televisoion writers Brooke Eikmeier and Katherine Walczak and artists Phil Hester (“Green Arrow”) and Eric Gapstur (“T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents”) are handling this series, and showrunner Andrew Kresiberg promises to be a more comic-y experience than the show itself.

“Barry will [already] be the Flash, he will have his team, everyone will be in that world, and we’ll introducing a new set of villains that we won’t be seeing on the TV show. It’ll feel like the same heart, humor and spectacle that you get watching Flash.”

Look for both series to hit print in October, just in time for their fall debuts.
