DC Comics have announced a revamp of their exclusive Walmart “100-Page Giant” books for next month. The company announced three new titles, “The Flash 100-Page Giant,” “Swamp Thing 100-Page Giant,” and “Wonder Woman 100-Page Giant.” “Wonder Woman” will replace “Justice League of America 100-Page Giant,” while “Teen Titans 100-Page Giant” will be rebranded “Titans 100-Page Giant.” It will be renumbered with “Batman” and “Superman 100-Page Giant,” which will otherwise continue.

The line will continue to reprint classic stories while offering new ones. “Green Lanterns” writer Tim Seeley and artist Mike Perkins will create the new 12-part offering in “Swamp Thing 100-Page Giant,” titled ‘Desert of Ash,’ which has Swamp Thing and his witch companion Briar pursue the pyromaniac Char Man. Issues #2 and #3 will also feature ‘Bog of Blood,’ a two-part story written by Seeley with art by Joëlle Jones (“Catwoman”), which will have Swamp Thing on the hunt for a supernatural slasher stalking the swamps of Louisiana.

The new 12-part story in “The Flash 100-Page Giant,” called ‘Glass Houses,’ will be written by Gail Simone and illustrated by Clayton Henry (“Black Lightning: Cold Dead Hands”). It will pit Barry Allen against his old enemy Mirror Master. Nancy Spears, VP of Mass Book, Digital Sales and Trade Marketing at DC, said in the press release, “DC has been incredibly successful in attracting new readers through its relationship with Walmart. These two titles [‘The Flash’ and ‘Swamp Thing’] are the perfect extensions to the Walmart line, given the successful Flash TV show and the popularity of last October’s ‘Swamp Thing Halloween Special.’”

Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, Tom Derenick and Chad Hardin’s Wonder Woman storyline from “Justice League of America” will carry over into “Wonder Woman 100-Page Giant,” and “Titans” will likewise continue Dan Jurgens, Scot Eaton and Wayne Faucher’s “Teen Titans” arc. Tom King and Andy Kubert’s “Superman,” and Brian Michael Bendis and Nick Derington’s “Batman” arc, will similarly be unaffected by the renumbering of those titles.

All of these books will be released in Walmart on Sunday, February 17, 2019.
