DC Comics & Webtoon have announced the first webcomic to be released via their partnership will be “Batman: Wayne Family Adventures,” by the creative team of writer CRC Payne; lead artist StarBite; storyboard artist Maria Li; background artist Lan Ma; letterer Kielamel Sibal; and colorists C.M. Cameron, Camille Cruz, and Jean Kim.
The series will follow Bruce Wayne as he takes a break from being Batman, and focuses on looking after “an endless supply of adopted, fostered, and biological superhero children,” including Duke Thomas, aka the Signal, after he begins living within Wayne Manor.
In the press release, David Lee, the Head of Content at Webtoon Entertainment, US, stated that “‘Batman: Wayne Family Adventures’ is a great example of what we can do when we pair a world class team of creators with a leading entertainment company like DC.”
DC Comics and Webtoon announced their partnership last month, with the Senior Vice President and General Manager of DC, Daniel Cherry III, describing the partnership’s aim as being to bring the publisher’s “iconic characters to a new generation of fans worldwide,” and “create fun and compelling DC stories that all readers will enjoy.”
The first episode of “Batman: Wayne Family Adventures” will launch today on September 8 at 1pm ET/10am PT.
