Image Comics have announced “Dead Body Road: Bad Blood,” a six-issue sequel to the 2014 series, “Dead Body Road.” Writer Justin Jordan, artist Matteo Scalera, and letterer Pat Brosseau will all be returning, although Scalera will only be providing cover art this time, with Benjamin Tiesma taking over as the interior artist for the series. Mat Lopes will be replacing Moreno Dinisio as the colorist.
“Dead Body Road: Bad Blood” will feature a new lead, Bree Hale, a military veteran who will stop at nothing to save her brother, who is being targeted by a local crime boss. The first series told the tale of Orson Gage, a lawman seeking revenge for the death of his wife. In the press release, Jordan said “This is another story about revenge, but this time from the point of view of the person trying to stop someone else from getting it. But should she?” Tiesma said, “It’s an honour and maybe a bit intimidating to illustrate this new chapter of ‘Dead Body Road’ following in Matteo Scalara’s footsteps for my first big project!” He added that “Bree is a storm, and I hope fans love her as much as we do!”
“Dead Body Road: Bad Blood” #1 will be released in on May 20. In the meantime, you can check out the preview pages here.
