DeMatteis Brings Thor And Asgard To Chaos War

Because Thor is Marvel’s new favorite character (seriously, have you seen how many Thor minis there are lately?), he’s getting his own limited series connecting to the story of Choas War. For those who don’t know, Chaos War features the return of Mikaboshi, God of Chaos, with his own army. He’s set to conquer everything! But our heroes stand in his way, featuring a “resurrected” Hercules. And wouldn’t you know it, Thor is a part of it all.

In the latest addition to the Chaos War spin-offs (also featuring Alpha Flight and the Dead Avengers), Thor’s book adds to the events of Chaos War’s effect on Asgard. As the Marvel press release reads, “the entity known as Glory goes head-to-head with Thor as the alien-god attempts to make all the Chaos King’s dreams come horribly true.” Glory, according to DeMatteis, is the embodiment of the entire pantheon of Gods, making him “cosmically mean and depraved.” DeMatteis will be joined by Brian Ching (Kinghts of the Old Republic) in art details. Sounds like a mini that’s worth picking up to me.

Look for the book this November for all your chaos-y and war-y business.

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
