According to a press release at World’s Finest – The #1 DC Animation Resource, DC Comics will begin “The Death of Superman,” a digital-first miniseries tying into the new animated film of the same name, tomorrow. The series is written by Louise Simonson (who co-wrote the original storyline), penciled and inked by Cat Staggs (“Crosswind”), and colored by Wendy Broome. Here’s the synopsis for the first issue:

Story: The Death of Superman was one of the biggest moment in the history of comics. Revisit the story that rocked the entired world with the last stand of Earth’s mightiest champion in this thrilling brand new mini series!

“Power” Part 1! How did Superman miss the beginning of Doomsday’s rampage? Well, first, he had to save Lois Lane’s father from his own folly.

No further details, like the length of the series, or whether it’ll have other artists like DC’s last animated movie tie-in, “Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay,” were not mentioned.

“The Death of Superman” #1 is out tomorrow, and it is available to preorder for 99 cents. A print edition of the series will be released next year. The animated Death of Superman movie, featuring the voices of Jerry O’Connell as Superman and Rebecca Romijn as Lois Lane, is out now digitally, and will be released on Blu-ray on August 7.
