Vertigo’s Graphic Content blog announced the fleet of artists that will be working on Brian Wood and Riccardo Burchielli’s DMZ #50 today, and it is glorious. It’s to be expected that such a momentous issue would garner a diverse and high quality list of artists, but this is pretty damn fantastic.
They’ve rounded up Jim Lee, Rebekah Isaacs, Fabio Moon, Ryan Kelly, John Paul Leon, Lee Bermejo, Philip Bond, Eduardo Risso and Dave Gibbons to go with our standard (and exceptional) art from Burchielli. Exceptional artists all, but I am most excited to see Risso, Gibbons, Moon and Lee play around in their little universe. Lee will be especially interesting, as his artistic style is the most divergent from Burchielli’s in my mind.
This issue is coming in February 2010. Don’t miss the opportunity to pick it up, and if you haven’t read this exceptional series (#8 on my favorite comics of the decade list), now is the perfect time to grab the trades and get caught up.
