The Doctor. Daleks. Danger.

Appearing online at the official BBC site for Doctor Who, the above image gives a glimpse of how Series 7 of the popular BBC show is going to kick off. Featuring a blood-stained Doctor holding the limp body of Amy Pond, it seems to imply that nothing good is coming for the fan favorite companion. Of course, Amy Pond is not going to be the companion for the duration of the new series as both Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill are signed on for half the series, but you don’t suppose they’d outright kill poor Mrs. Pond?

Of course, the interesting aspect of it is those that surround him. As the blog teases,

A Dalek on the right of the picture does not have any of the vertical grille-like slats that have become a familiar feature, indicating it’s a version the Doctor faced when he first met his oldest enemies on Skaro. And on the left there’s a Special Weapons Dalek, last seen in the 1988 story, Remembrance of the Daleks.

There should be a new trailer on the way today as well. I don’t suppose it’ll feature anything happy.

Update: And here’s that new trailer:

Uh oh.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
