Via The Beat, comiXology Originals have announced a new graphic novel called “Double Walker,” by the creative combination of writer Michael Conrad and artist Noah Bailey (who previously worked together on “Tremor Dose”), with letterer Taylor Esposito, and designer Kyle Arends.

The horror graphic novel will see married couple Cully and Gemma McCarthy travelling to the Scottish Highlands to enjoy the last of their “carefree, childless days,” only to be informed by the barkeep at a B&B that the area they are staying in has been witness to a series of murders. With the stories of the murders as well as Scottish myths and legends holding firm in their minds and washing their holiday with paranoia, the couple’s marriage is brought into question, and they must face their “deepest, darkest fears.”

In a statement, Conrad said “I have always been fascinated by psychology and human motivation, my background in the mental health field will always inform every story I tell,” and explained books like “Double Walker” allow him to “push myself further into the surreal, twisted, and often terrifying worlds where I feel most at home.” Bailey stated that he “fell in love with every character, every environment and every moment that Michael had concocted,” describing Conrad’s writing as “painfully real and raw, displaying all of the beautiful complexities of human relationships, pulling no punches in the moments of deep, diabolical darkness.”

“Double Walker” is scheduled to release via comiXology on July 13. You can check out preview pages and a trailer for the graphic novel here.
