Doug TenNapel isn’t a household name amongst superhero comic fans, but the guy is an absolute legend in many circles, namely for having created “Earthworm Jim,” the titular hero of the video game and animated series from the 90’s. He’s also a huge influence within the industry, and whenever something new from him arrives, people take note.

Today brought something new, as his debut page from webcomic “Ratfist” rolled out today. Having been inspired by the success of “Axe Cop,” TenNapel decided he wanted to go back to his roots.

It’s been a while since I goofed around with the dorky hero genre of Earthworm Jim, and I wanted to return to that world and those fans to give them a modern take on absurdist humour.

No word on the release frequency we can expect, but I have a good feeling about this one folks. Consider “Ratfist” one to watch for 2010.
