Dragotta Replacing Bobillo Early On FF?

While this could easily be chalked up to a printing error, a curiosity appeared in this week’s issue of FF #14.

When originally solicited, the next issue of FF, #15, was noted to have current series artist Juan Bobillo as the artist of the issue, with Bobillo illustrating through March’s #16, which would serve as the epilogue to the current Doom storyline (all of which Bobillo has illustrated) and would assumedly solidify the Future Foundation’s place in the Marvel U now that the Fantastic Four has seemingly reformed.

Then, come April, Multiversity favorite Nick Dragotta, hot off a sweet stint with Joe Casey with Marvel’s mini “event” Vengeance, would join with issue #17 for a brand new story arc (which admittedly put a big smile on our face).

Yet, in an advertisement in the back of issue #14 (pictured above), it is Dragotta getting credit for the interior art of next issue, not Bobillo — which would seem to indicate that for whatever reason, Bobillo is off the book early and Dragotta is replacing him.

This isn’t inherently a bad thing; Dragotta is certainly an excellent artist, and a perfect fit for the world of the Future Foundation. Yet still, it does seem rather curious that Bobillo might not get to finish his arc on FF for whatever reason (and at this point, there is no reason to assume anything negative — something might have come up, and Bobillo might have had to bow out early for personal reasons). Again, this could simply be a printing error, but it does seem rather odd regardless.

We’ll keep you posted as we find out more, but for now keep your eyes peeled. In the mean time and for posterity, here is the original solicitation:
