Scott Snyder and Jamal Igle’s comiXology series “Dudley Datson and the Forever Machine” is making its print debut courtesy of Dark Horse Comics on April 17, and we are proud to present an exclusive first look at Cliff Chiang’s variant cover (Cover H) for the first issue.

From New York Times-bestselling creators Scott Snyder and Jamal Igle comes this rollicking sci-fi adventure story about a boy, his dog, and a machine that controls time and space! What could go wrong? Have you ever wondered why all the great figures in history had a pet companion, and if they were all running from the same mysterious threat? Such questions have never crossed the mind of Dudley Datson, a fifteen year-old with a penchant for invention. But when dastardly foes turn his world upside down, Dudley is going to have to start facing things beyond his wildest imagination in this modern day fable.

Thanks to Dark Horse Comics for the cover, and be sure to pre-order a copy before the final order cutoff next month. The copies with Chang’s artwork will retail at 56 pages for $5.99, $1 more than the regular edition with Igle’s cover art. The series’ print release will run for three issues, with the trade paperback collecting the whole series (which will retail for $17.99) set to bow in bookstores on October 22, and comic book stores the following day. In the meantime, check out the press release, featuring the other covers and praise for the series, at the link here.

We also have a few pages from the comic, in case you haven’t read the series yet, or just want to reread it:
