Despite the long delay, fans of Jonathan Hickman and Dustin Weaver’s “SHIELD” series still hold out hope that one day it will completed and in our hands. While we haven’t visited the events of the series since its last installment in February of 2012, “SHIELD” v2 #5 and #6 remain two of Marvel’s most highly anticipated books, only to be released when both are completed.

But in the meantime, Weaver decided to drop a few teases of SHIELD v2 #5 last night to whet our appetites and probably drive us up the wall with anticipation — so lets make these pangs of anticipation go viral, yeah? Here’s the preview:

It’s not much, sure, but it’s a start. Colored by Sonia Oback, it’s a high octane sequence that immediately makes me wish I almost hadn’t looked and posted these panels myself, because dammit now all I want to do is read the finale of “SHIELD.” It’s like we do these things to ourselves.

“SHIELD” v2 #5 comes out… someday.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
