Dynamite Entertainment has announced a July 2014 relaunch of the Jack Kirby’s “Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers”, written by Joe Casey and featuring art by Conner Willumsen, Farel Dalrymple, Nathan Fox, Michel Fiffe, Benjamin Marra, Jim Rugg, Jim Mahfood, and Ulises Farinas.
Captain Victory was one of Kirby’s major post-Marvel/DC creations, first appearing in November 1981 from Pacific Comics. The character has since appeared subsequently in comics from Topps, Image, and as part of the earlier Kirby Genesis revival at Dynamite in 2011, where he had a spinoff series written by Sterling Gates and drawn by Joe St. Pierre.
It’s assumed that Casey will be relaunching the title and character in a similar fashion to his “Catalyst Comix” relaunch, but it’s too early to tell and there is no further information provided by Dynamite at this time. Either way, we’re rather excited, because that’s one amazing line-up of talent.
