Today, Dynamite Entertainment announced “KISS: Zombies,” along with a new installment of the sci-fi Red Rising universe with the original graphic novel “Pierce Brown’s Red Rising Sons of Ares Volume 2: Wrath” for this November. “KISS: Zombies” is written by Ethan Sacks with art by Rodney Buchemi, coloring by Dijo Lima, and lettering by Troy Peteri. The second “Sons of Ares” will be written by Pierce Brown and Rik Hoskin, illustrated by Eli Powell, colored by Dee Cunniffe, lettered by Tom Napolitano, and will feature a cover by artist Toby Cypress.

“KISS: Zombies” follows on the events of “KISS: The End,” where a post-apocalyptic society grapples with a zombie horde attracted to the sounds of music. In New Detroit, where music is banned, a group of teenagers seek out KISS to save their city and bring back rock n’ roll. Writer Sacks (“Old Man Hawkeye,” “Old Man Quill”) describes the series as a combination of Land of the Dead, A Quiet Place, Seven Samurai, and Footloose.

“Red Rising Sons of Ares Volume 2: Wrath” is a prequel that will dig deeper into the foundation of the rebel group that main character Darrow, a Red, later joins in the events of the Red Rising novel. Brown said that he’s “excited to reunite with [co-writer] Rik to further expand the world of Red Rising, and to see [interior artist] Eli render the seething cities and mythical violence of the Society with his savage inks.”

Both comic books will be available digitally and in comic book shops in November.
