Thanks to the DCU blog, we get an early look at the Flash! Now that the Flash: Rebirth mini is all over, it’s about time we start getting a better look at what to look at Francis Manapul has been up to, as his work has been very missed in Adventure Comics. Needless to say, the interiors of the book look great.

The article does slightly go into some depth as to what we can expect from the first arc, The Dastardly Death of the Rogues: When one of the Flash’s deadliest foes turns up dead, can the newly-returned Scarlet Speedster scour Central City to solve the crime before the elusive killer strikes again? I had imagined that this might be a spin off from Blackest Night: Flash with the death of Boomerang, but apparently it’s someone new. So place your bets now as to which Rogue is going to bite the axe!

Not only that, but The Source published a couple sketches from Francis Manapul, and they are fantastic. If you weren’t convinced to pick up the book before, you certainly will be now. If you’d like to prep for his run in Flash, you’ll be happy to know that his run in Adventure Comics is almost in trade (coming in May, and the work he did for the Legion book (written by Jim Shooter) is available now with the second part reprinted in May.

The Flash: Secret Files hits March 24th by Johns and Manapul, with the book starting in April 14th as part of Brightest Day.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
