For those of you who have been holding out and waiting years for just this announcement, prepare to smile and drool: just announced at ECCC (and teased the other day by Remender), it looks like the long rumored “Fear Agent” Omnibus is actually happening (finally) from Dark Horse Comics.

Originally set for release in August of 2010 with a 680 page hardcover, the book was delayed due to the delay of the final issue, with Remender eventually saying that the “Fear Agent” Omnibus would not happen due to various logistics — specifically, that there was no way to combine all of books and the bonus material to one volume. It seems that little issue has been solved, however, as the series will be split into two volumes.

Using a similar method to the BPRD Omnibi, the first volume will contain the first three trades worth of material as well as some of the back-up stories collected in “Tales of the Fear Agent” as well as other “extra special goodies.” The first volume is currently set for an October 2012 release date, with the second volume sometime after that (assumedly in 2013). All six volumes of “Fear Agent” will be on sale by that point, as well as “Tales” which collects the back-up material for those of you who did not purchase the series in single issues from Image and Dark Horse.

Now how much longer do we have to wait for that movie we wanted to see starring Jon Hamm?

Is the plural of omnibus “omnibi”? I’ve never been clear on that and no one ever has a straight answer, but oh well.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
