Well this is a bit of a surprise: Multiversity’s perennial favorite Ed Brisson (“Comeback,” “Sheltered,” all your favorite lettering gigs) will be guest writing two issues of “Secret Avengers” to tie into Marvel’s big “Infinity” event in October.

As revealed on Marvel’s site, The Bri$$ (as he’s known amongst friends and relatives) will be filling in for series writer Nick Spencer alongside the regular series artist Luke Ross. Focusing on Nick Fury Jr, Agent Coulson and Maria Hill, the series will focus on the SHIELD Trinity going up against interstellar Thanos thugs in the Battle for Brooklyn. It’s essentially taking the covert team and making them incredibly overt for a twist on the regular series mantra.

I’d expect Spencer will return with issue #12, once “Infinity” and its tie-ins have come and gone. Congrats to our good pal Ed Brisson on the gig, and look forward to reading it in October.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
