Edmondson’s Black Widow and Punisher Books to Crossover in August

As revealed in an interview with CBR, Nathan Edmondson’s two Marvel books are about to collide.

Coming in August, Marvel will be publishing a crossover entitled “Friend From Foe,” a two-issue crossover between each book’s issue #9. What makes this interesting, however, is that while the event is small (which takes place on a mystery boat and pits both characters against Crossbones), each issue tells the exact same story from the differing character perspectives. So while it is technically a crossover, it’s also a one-shot in which each character happens to meet and intertwine.

Not only that, but Edmondson also teases that while it will feature severe consequences for both books coming out of it, there may be a “ripple effect” into a third title as well. Whether that’s a new third title by Edmondson or an existing story is uncertain, but for a quick and dirty mini-event/crossover it’ll certainly be interesting to see what comes out of it.

Look for this in August, and more from Marvel’s August solicitations assumedly next week.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
