Looks like today isn’t done with Daredevil related news, as Marvel has announced that Elektra will have a part to play in the second season of Daredevil and that she will be played by Elodie Yung. Now, Yung is not a bad actor by any stretch and her role as Jinx in G.I. Joe: Retaliation was basically Elektra Lite so I can see why she was on Marvel’s radar, but I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that she’s not actually Greek. It’s a shame because after that whole Jennifer Garner thing, I was hoping Marvel Studios would cast a Greek actor in the role.
That being said, I’m interested to see the part Elektra will play in the show. Marvel’s announcement makes it clear that Elektra will be a figure from Matt’s past who returns in the present, presumably solidifying the fact that Greek girl mentioned in Episode 10 of the first season is Elektra, and that the show will be continuing to take its inspiration from Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.’s “Daredevil: The Man Without Fear”.
With the confirmation of Elektra being in the show’s second season, I would if it’s only a matter of time before we get a casting announcement for Bullseye…
