At The Hollywood Reporter, Dark Horse Comics have announced Mike Mignola and British cartoonist Warwick Johnson-Cadwell are reteaming for a new graphic novel, “Our Encounters With Evil: Adventures of Professor J.T. Meinhardt and His Assistant Mr. Knox.” The follow-up to their 2017 vampire comedy “Mr. Higgins Comes Home,” the new book will follow the continuing adventures of Meinhardt and Knox, now accompanied by Ms. Mary Van Sloan, vampire hunter.
Johnson-Cadwell told the Reporter, “We [will] join this trio as Professor Meinhardt recounts three of their ‘Encounters With Evil.’ These stories take us through the dark hearted Hornetwood, across the diabolic Blackwater Falls, and into the hands of a deadly hunter.” The cartoonist, who illustrated the previous book, will also write the sequel, while Mignola will provide cover art: Dave Stewart will color the book, with lettering by Clem Robins.
Mignola said, “Warwick brought an insane amount to energy and invention to ‘Mr. Higgins Comes Home’ — more ideas than could ever fit into that one book — so I was thrilled when he told me he wanted to continue the adventures of Meinhardt and Knox.” He added readers should “look forward to a whole world of vampires and related monstrosities like nothing you’re even seen before.”
“Our Encounters With Evil” will released by Dark Horse in comic book stores on October 9, and in other bookstores on October 22.
