Newsarama reports Legendary Comics will publish “Enola Holmes: Mycroft’s Dangerous Game,” a graphic novel set after the 2020 film, which was in turn based on the novels by Nancy Springer. The book, due out August 23, 2022, was written by Mickey George (“The Heart Hunter”) from a story by Springer herself, and will feature art by Giorgia Sposito (“Lunar Room”).

The story will see Enola “investigating the abduction of her brother Mycroft by a group of anarchists,” though for her, it isn’t just about rescuing him, “but also about recovering something precious he took from her before he was abducted.” She will join forces with her friend Lord Tewkesbury, “and a new character named Shag” on the case, which will take her “deep into the London Underground.”

Nikita Kannekanti, Legendary Comics’ senior editor, said, “We are so excited to expand Enola’s world and story with an exciting new adventure in our graphic novel from this extremely talented creative team. Nancy has come up with a really fun story with some charming new characters and some returning familiar faces. I hope fans will enjoy solving the mystery with Enola!”

This is not the first time Enola Holmes has appeared in comics, as the books were adapted into a series of graphic novels by French cartoonist Séréna Blasco; these were released in English by IDW Publishing’s EuroComics imprint shortly before the film was produced. “Mycroft’s Dangerous Game” is expected to coincide with Enola Holmes 2, which is currently in post-production for a 2022 release on Netflix. Like the first film, it will star Millie Bobby Brown as Enola, Henry Cavill as Sherlock, and Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury, but it is unclear if it will also see the return of Sam Claflin as Mycroft — perhaps this book will explain his whereabouts.
