Marvel Comics have announced Kieron Gillen, Esad Ribić, and Matthew Wilson are relaunching the “Eternals” series in November, and we’ve got an exclusive first look at the first issue’s variant cover by Superlog, showcasing Ikaris.

Created by Jack Kirby in 1976, the Eternals last starred in a series penned by Charles and Daniel Knauf, that ran for nine issues from 2008 to 2009. The new comic coincides with the characters’ upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, the Eternals movie (featuring Richard Madden as Ikaris), which is currently set for release on February 12, 2021.
The book also marks Gillen’s first series in the Marvel Universe since 2015 (not counting contributions to anthologies like “Marvel Comics” #1000 and “Thanos Annual”), when he began concentrating on the company’s Star Wars titles — his other upcoming projects for Marvel include the miniseries “Warhammer 40,000: Marneus Calgar.” Ribić’s most recent Marvel series was “King Thor,” while Wilson (who colored Gillen and Jamie McKelvie’s “Young Avengers” and “The Wicked + The Divine”), is currently working on Donny Cates and Nic Klein’s “Thor” relaunch.
