“Excelsior” Interviews The Marvel Universe

Do you remember during “Fear Itself,” when the main “Avengers” tie-in acted as a series of interviews starting with issue #13? Take that, but imagine if it was a bit more honest, had no fourth wall and was an ongoing series.

That’s what you get with “Excelsior”, a new(ish) webcomic by by Nathan Town and Tammy McKinnon. As he writes in the first comic of the series, the comic comedically tracks, through a series of interviews, just how screwed up the various characters of the Marvel universe have become due to their exploits. There’s a clear bias present in some of the strips (such as the one discussing Luke Cage’s current iteration), but it’s all never the less amusing to see “candid moments” of these heroes as they reflect on their impossible lives.

You can check it all out at ExcelsiorComic.com. It’s only a handful of strips in at the moment with updates every Monday, but it’s certainly an amusing chuckle for the beginning of your week.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
