Way back in the year 1990, Marvel decided that their First Family just weren’t up to the razor-sharp edginess of the extreme new decade, so a new idea was born. A New Fantastic Four consisting of Spider-Man, Wolverine, Hulk and Ghost Rider arose, setting aside their lone-wolf attitudes to fight like a family. Now, almost 30 years later, they’re back in “Fantastic Four” #22, the “Empyre” tie-in arriving this May.

Marvel previously announced that Wolverine and Spider-Man would be back to help out Franklin and Valeria Richards on Earth while the original Fantastic Four went up to space to combat the new Kree/Skrull Empire. But with the addition of Ghost Rider and Hulk, the whole roster will be back for more.

The issue will be written by series scribe Dan Slott (“The Amazing Spider-Man,” “Tony Stark: Iron Man”) with pencils by Paco Medina (“Tony Stark: Iron Man,” “Avengers: No Road Home”) and a cover by Nick Bradshaw. Check out the full solicit below.

James Dowling is probably the last person on Earth who enjoyed the film Real Steel. He has other weird opinions about Hellboy, CHVRCHES, Squirrel Girl and the disappearance of Harold Holt. Follow him @James_Dow1ing on Twitter if you want to argue about Hugh Jackman's best film to date.
