As you’ve seen today, we had a really nice, extensive talk with Sweets creator and rising star Kody Chamberlain. While we were on the call, Kody teased a book he has in the works a few times throughout, but in the bulk of the interview we never got into it.
However, afterwards, Kody went into a few more details.
I’m actually in the early stages of writing a new series too. I guess for a lack of better term, it’s going to be my Sin City or Hellboy. It’s going to be the world…I’m creating this world of characters I can go back to over and over. It may not be ongoing, but it will be at least one or two stories a year in trade format. Five or six issue arcs collected in trade later on. I’ll keep coming back to the same world. I’m in the early stages of writing that and it’s super exciting. I’ve passed some early stuff to some writer friends and they are really excited about it.
It’s something I’m really into on a personal level. The themes and the subject are things I’m really excited about. I love doing research into stuff like this.
Kody went on to say that he was hoping to work with Image again on this title, but mentioned a few other publishers that may be interested as well. Look for a more comprehensive announcement here at MC in December or January.
