To bridge the gap between “Captain America” #25, which finds Steve Rogers passing his shield onto Sam Wilson (aka The Falcon), and “All-New Captain America” #1 starring the affectionately named FalCap, Marvel will be releasing a new Infinite Comics digital series called “All-New Captain America: Fear Him” from Dennis Hopeless and Szymon Kudranski. That six-part series finds Wilson transitioning into the new role as he squares off against the Scarecrow, a Marvel villain who apparently existed in the past but I personally had never heard of but I love his appearances in Batman.
Hopeless is a fantastic writer, though, and Kudranski’s art looks powerful in the preview art (which makes it a shame that PC Magazine, the folks who revealed the book, didn’t even mention his name), which you can see in this very article. All six parts will be dropping at the same time in October, and will utilize ComiXology’s Guided View technology. It’s a pretty great way to unveil the character, although I sincerely hope (likely fruitlessly) that it will be priced at 99 cents per issue. Fat chance, on that, but the FalCap era is nearly upon us. Get excited, folks.
