Fan Expo ’11: Milligan and Rosanas to Reimagine Kiss Kiss Bang Bang for Crossgen

No, not THAT Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang.

As part of Marvel’s CrossGen revival, Marvel will be releasing a new version of the 2004 series Kiss Kiss Bang Bang in December. The book will be a four-issue mini written by Peter Milligan with art by Roman Rosanas that revamps the title for the modern age.

The story is about a young man named Alan McGrath who works for MI6 who has to take on a new identity as the new Charles Kiss (think of it as if you had the opportunity to become 007). The real Charles Kiss was a hero for McGrath, and McGrath is left debating if he can live up to the lofty pressure of his heroes ideals. The book will be somewhat of a mild reflection of what people expect from recent Bond films with exotic locations and action sequences that, if they were to film, would cost a small fortune, although Milligan notes that there is no direct era of Bond films that he directly plays off of and instead notes novelist John Le Carre and the James Bond books as an influence (although the films do play a part for the inspiration of widescreen action).

Look for this title in December.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
