Announced today at FanExpo in Toronto, it looks like Brian Wood is coming to Marvel to do some projects after recently ending his exclusive contract with DC. Wood had been teasing some new for-hire work for quite some time now, so its exciting as fans to hear announcements of where he is ending up.

The last time Wood worked for Marvel was with Warren Ellis on the Counter X arc for Generation X, which he then stayed on until the series was cancelled. With Wood’s new project it looks to still be somehow X-Men related, with the image forming an X out of scratch marks from Wolverine’s claws. Could this mean that Wood will be taking over on the Wolverine title from Jason Aaron – either one of them? Only time will tell.

Look for more news as we find it out.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
