After being announced and then, rather quickly, unannounced during NYCC, today it is made official: James Robinson and Leonard Kirk are relaunching “Fantastic Four” as part of the All-New Marvel NOW! initiative in February. USA Today has the full story, but here are the main points:
– The story is about the “rise and fall of the Fantastic Four,” and more specifically, of Johnny Storm.
– A lot of the cast of “FF” is sticking around – Scott Lang, Darla Deering, and Dragon Man are all mentioned in the article.
– Ben Grimm and Alicia Masters will rekindle their romance.
– Franklin and Valeria are still important parts of the book.
– Things will begin to break bad, eventually resulting in an eviction from the Baxter Building, Dragon Man sentenced to death, Ben on trial for murder, and Johnny powerless.
– There is a new logo for the book, which is featured on the cover above. Also featured was this Alex Ross Fantastic Four piece – perhaps a variant cover?

We are big Robinson fans and big Fantastic Four fans around these parts, and hope that this fit winds up being as great as it can be.
