Fantastic Four #588: The Final Issue

Well that’s certainly a friendly quote.

Marvel has released the following image with the Alan Davis cover to Fantastic Four #588 (which will feature Nick Dragotta on interior art), announcing that beyond that there is no more Fantastic Four. While that doesn’t mean that there aren’t plans for the characters somewhere else (with the FF title teased obviously being a clue, with Hickman and Epting), it looks like Marvel’s First Family is calling it quits after the death of one of their members. With the Thing also presumably leaving the team, it doesn’t look like a time of happiness for the group. Heck, it doesn’t really look like a good time to be anyone anywhere in the Marvel Universe at the moment, with Fear Itself around the corner and Daredevil also having lost his mantle. Whose next?

Someone should ask Stan Lee what he thinks of all this.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
