Good news, The Wire fans: Norman Wilson is now the father of two superheroes.

As announced at the Hollywood Reporter, Reg. E Cathey has been cast in Fantastic Four. Yes, the man that helped put Petyr Baelish into office at Baltimore is now going to be playing Dr. Franklin Storm, noted scientist and assumed head of the Baxter Building think tank (as we’re all kind of assuming that the film is taking its cues from the Ultimate Universe due to its young cast). The announcement does not give any more details than Cathey simply being cast, but it’s probably a safe assumption given Tim Blake Nelson joining as Mole Man.

Of course, Dr. Franklin Storm is also the father of Sue (Kate Mara) and Johnny Storm (Michael B. Jordan), a casting decision that caused a fair amount of petty controversy amongst fans. (I suppose now would be a good time to remind you that we do monitor our comment section.)

Cathey joining the cast is great, though, and continues to strengthen the amount of talent that this film has alongside Miles Teller as Reed Richards, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm and Toby Kebbell as Victor “Vicky” von Doom.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
