In an effort to release even more of our most highly anticipated comics of the year, it appears First Second will be releasing long awaited book “The Wrenchies” by Farel Dalrymple. Something that Dalrymple has been working on for quite some time now (we can remember mention of it as far back as 2012), Dalrymple’s book is set for release this fall — and we couldn’t be more excited.
A not-quite-all-ages book, the graphic novel follows a group of kids and teens who fight all kinds of ghouls, including demons and zombies, and is described as a twist on “Peter Pan” but with time travel and magic. The book will run as a 300-page (!!!) graphic novel, which makes sense given the amount of time Dalrymple has been working on it, and generally looks like another win — especially for fans of his webcomic It Will All Hurt.
First Second already has an impressive line-up this year, such as with Box Brown’s Andre the Giant book, but this looks like another great notch in First Second’s belt for 2014. We can’t wait to check it out.
