After two years, Rob Guillory’s “Farmhand” is finally getting an issue #16. Image announced today that the agricultural horror series would be returning this April with a brand new story arc. The series, which we recognized as one of the Best of 2018, follows the Jenkins family and their garden of replacement human organs.

“In ‘Farmhand’ #16, The Jedidiah Seed now grows in the wild,” Image states in their announcement. “Their farm in ruins, the Jenkins family tries to cobble together a path forward in a world ruled by the demonic Monica Thorne.”

“A lot’s happened since the last issue of ‘Farmhand,’ in the world of the Jenkins Farm and in our own,” Guillory says of the new arc. “And I couldn’t be happier to finally bring to life what I believe will be the darkest, most intense chapter of this strange little story yet. Buckle up.”

Guillory is best known as the artist of “Chew,” also from Image. Guillory co-created that series in 2009 with writer John Layman. Between 2010 and 2011, the series would go on to win two Eisners, two Harveys, and two Eagle Awards. Reportedly, Layman warned Guillory that “Farmland” may typecast him as “the guy who does really weird stories.”

“Farmland” #16 hits shelves Wednesday, April 13, 2022.
