Fialkov and Infurnari’s The Bunker Goes Live … If You Know Where To Look

On this week’s episode of The Hour Cosmic, we had an opportunity to sit down and chat with Josh Fialkov, whom you may know as an award-winning writer most recently found at Marvel for “Hunger” or DC for “I, Vampire.” In it, he promoted a new self-released digital comic entitled “The Bunker,” one that would be going live next week for all the world to see and read and enjoy.

That is, unless you knew where to look for it. Or knew where to be following it — such as, I don’t know, the official website or even perhaps by following the Twitter feed?

Written by Fialkov and illustrated by Joe Infurnari, we had a chance to look at the first issue before chatting with Josh on our show, and honestly I have only positive things to say about it. Slightly reminiscent of “20th Century Boys” or perhaps even the slow, cool intro to something like LOST, it’s tough to say too much about “The Bunker” without spoiling it for you. It’s one of those books that is best read with as little information preceding it, beyond the nuggets of teases I’ve given you already.

I will say this, however — Fialkov and Infurnari are fantastic storytellers. You’ll find it hard, should you be so wise as to sign on for this series via a digital reading method of your choice, to not get lost in the dark world they’re creating for this series.

The choice is yours. Are you ready to see what’s inside the bunker?

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
