Every now and then we troll Amazon. Every now and then we post about it. This is one of those times.
If there’s one thing every Whovian has ever asked him or herself, it’s, “Gee whiz, I wish I could control my television with a sonic screwdriver while watching Doctor Who in 1080p high definition.” Well, now you can! Because that’s exactly what is being released, and wow, this sounds awesome (and a little bit funny).
Collecting all of the Davies era on Blu-ray for the first time (as far as I’m aware) while giving you all of the latest Moffat-run show with Matt Smith as the Doctor, this will be released right before the 50th Anniversary special set to debut later this year in November. This will go well right next to that giant Marvel Phase One Blu-ray set you bought. You did buy that, right?
Honestly, I just want the remote. If it makes the sound effect I bet it could freak out my cats.
The box set costs a whopping $349.98, or $314.98 if you pre-order from Amazon. I’ll note, for those of you unawares of this deal, that if you pre-order on Amazon before the release of, well, anything, Amazon will give you the lowest price that the item goes before release, no matter what — and will refund you the difference, should they need to. So, you never know; a deal could be made out of this thing yet.
Or, if you’re just Who crazy, then have at it.
