“You are a good man, with a good heart. It’s hard for a good man to be king.”

The first trailer for Marvel Studios upcoming Black Panther dropped during Game 4 of the NBA finals (which sees the Cavs down three games but winning by double digits at the time of this writing). Check it out below:

The trailer has a techno vibe with very electronic music which makes sense for the technology metropolis that is the kingdom of Wakanda (pronounced Wah-can-duh instead of Wah-khan-duh by Andy Serkis’ Ulysses Klaue). The trailer also has plenty of action and highlights both the Black Panther and the Dora Milaje in action. Serkis’s character is being detained by Martin Freeman’s Everett Ross and calls the country “El Dorado,” claiming that the powers at be have been looking on the wrong continent.

The trailer is light on plot, but we have a new synopsis to accompany the trailer:

Marvel Studios’ Black Panther follows T’Challa (Boseman) who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king — and Black Panther — is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

The film stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, with Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown and John Kani. Black Panther opens in theaters February 16, 2018.
